Arrived 2pm at a misty Portland harbour. Wind looked a bit iffy, but had no choice but to rig up my 6m since there had been no room in the car for my bigger kit as well. Fortunately the gamble of taking only my smaller kit paid off and I had a very good 2.5 hour sail. A fraction underpowered on the 6m which I had rigged very full, but I was planing quite comfortably for most of the time. There were a couple of 15-20 minute periods when the wind picked up a few knots and then it was fun fun fun. Mist soon cleared but it stayed cloudy with a few brief sunny intervals and thankfully no rain. Wind started to die at 5.30pm so came off the water and packed up. Correct decision since it didn't pick up again. Felt sorry for the after-work brigade who turned up at 5.30, saw there was no wind and left straight away again. They should have been there an hour ago....

First time I have used my Bee with the 6m. Went fine, although a little slower than with the smaller sails - was having trouble keeping up with friends who were on slightly bigger boards. Maybe the 6m is a touch too big for the Bee, but still seemed to work well, especially when the wind picked up a bit.

Pancake-flat water so lots of gybing practice. Got round a fair proportion. First time I have properly practised gybes on the Bee so reasonably pleased with my performance, but still think I should be doing a lot better. Also virtually no spin-out problems, which was a relief after the constant spin-out on my last session with the JP. Meant that I was a lot more confident with driving hard off the fin to get upwind and with going for jumps as well. However I'm thinking now that the spin-out I keep encountering on the JP is not just down to my poor technique, which is a bit worrying, might be a problem with the kit.

Overall a very enjoyable sail with friends. Great to get out on the tiny board again.
